The secretary has you sign in and then you complete an accounting assessment. They were journal entries for the sub-prime lending and automobile industry, like the J/E to record the loss on a car loan or how to record interest income. Once I completed it, the secretary called in the owner or manager to interview me, I believe her name was Alice? She seemed kind of an odd bird, but she was nice enough. She said I did excellent on the accounting assessment, and proceeded to ask me what I know about the company, and a bunch of behavioral and customer service questions. It was all standard questioning, no curve balls. If you want the job, I would go in there knowing a lot more about the company than I did, ask around and figure out what they do. Write out a list of questions you want to know about the company, the history ect.
Then she had me meet the lady I would be working under, if selected. She was a little more personable and she complimented my resume and my cover letter. It didn't feel like an interview at that point. After I left I never heard from them again, not even after I wrote a thank you e-mail. I drove there two hours and two back, wrote a cover letter for the specific position, and they couldn't bother to give me a courtesy call/e-mail? Kind of rude, I regretted the interview.
It makes you wonder how they treat you once you're employed? I mean it's not an accounting job, so you really can't take your experience elsewhere, except to work a customer service job. That starting salary was decent, but she was vague about salary progression, perhaps because it's a dead-end job and they know they got you.
