Question 1
My past experiences regarding the expectations of the role.
I applied online. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam)
Interview
Recruiter arrived late at the online meeting. Showed little to no interest while sitting on a couch while looking very distracted. I did receive an email to leave a review from Adyen were I stated that the recruiter is the initial face of the company and it did not look good.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen in Jul 2025
Interview
The TA approached me on LinkedIn about a role in another country to where I was located. They thought I would be a good fit for the role after the screening call and put me through to the next stage. Multiple weeks go by without contact, and I get handed over to another TA who was very helpful went through all the benefits, relocation package, etc. I had 2nd interview with peers, passed it. 3rd interview was a case study, passed it. 4th interview was with the global manager of the role, and I was rejected. All throughout the process, I was being told my leadership style suited the company and the role, and then when I was rejected they told me my leadership style doesn't suit the role. Very unhelpful feedback. The whole process was over an 8 week period. I would be very hesitant to apply to Adyen in future as their interview process needs an overhaul. If they are going to try headhunt staff, then those candidates should be fast tracked to the global manager interview, or the process should be reversed.
