I had an interview booked with Adyen, but on the day of my first interview the recruiter never showed up. I emailed to check in, and later received a message asking me to rebook. I rescheduled for a few days later.
The interview itself went very well — smooth, great connection, clear understanding on both sides. The recruiter told me I would be invited to the next stage and that I would receive the details soon.
A few days passed and I followed up, but I didn’t hear anything back. I followed up again, still with no response. The recruiter simply disappeared. About a month later, I saw on LinkedIn that someone who already worked at the company had been promoted into the role. That is absolutely fine — internal hires happen — but a response would have been appreciated.
At the time, I assumed it was an honest mistake and that the recruiter had simply forgotten to reach out. But after seeing that several other candidates reported similar experiences, it seems this isn’t a one-off error but more of a recurring habit.
A real shame, because the interview itself left me feeling positive, and a simple email would have kept the process professional.
