I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Adyen (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Very lacking interview process, they’re quite clueless and a waste of precious time. They will ask you to role play an executive presentation scenario after a quick 15 minute intro interview. Zero conversations on your personal values, sales style, background, achievements, etc. Questions about the payment industry and Adyen vs anything about the actual candidates style or experience. Then the lacking presentation data sets provided create a quick path to interview failure. All very odd when interviewing external candidates.

Question 1
Within the role play presentation, as if the head of payments would ask this, but “What is the difference between a payment gateway and an acquirer?”
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Adyen (London, England) in Sep 2025
Interview
I was approached directly by Adyen, had the first call with the recruiter then with a senior AM and a middle east amanger, the typical questions which was answered thoroughly and carefully, the following day received a decline template without any explanation or reasoning.
Very long process, slow communication, nice people overall. Culture didn’t seem to fit in with mine but that’s not to say it wouldn’t be good for other people. Seemed to have a flexible approach to working remotely.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (New York, NY) in Feb 2025
Interview
If you’re an older “White Passing” straight male from the US don’t bother for a role in unified commerce. Resentful DEI and insecure L-1 Visa middle management gatekeepers made this an increasingly negative experience.
Interviewer in round 3 (of 6) clearly had it out for me. Yet they continued to stretch things out. During this time I was down leveled without them informing me. In person case study presentation moved to Zoom and was sent the automated feedback for the completion of the interview process before I was even rejected. Despite 10+ years AM, SAM, and leadership experience at major companies that are their top clients.
The people I engaged with seemed to hate their jobs more than their clients hate their products.
