I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Aegis Therapies in Jul 2009
Interview
I interviewed 4 years ago when there were not enough O.T.'s to go around. I had 6 years experience in LTC and had managerial experience. I called in response to a flyer regarding a brand new nursing home Aegis had won the contract with and was offered an interview at the time of the phone call. I interviewed with the Dist. Manager a few days later and pretty much named my price it would take for me to take the job. However, the landscape has drastically changed with medicare reg/fee schedule changes and we are overstaffed with O.T.s. Sometimes getting hours can be difficult for all therapists in the building without having to dip into your PTO bank for the week.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were none. They were begging me to work there.
Aegis had a simple interview with generalized questions about schedule availability and pay rate expectations. They asked a few questions about experience and mostly explained their company. There was minimal pressure and the company was open to negotiate.
Very casual and laid back interview. Conversation was more focused on my experiences and needs rather than formal interview questions. The DOR was very helpful and focused on building a good team environment. She seemed like a very supportive and understanding DOR.
3 phone interviews, usually around 15-45 minute for each one. First to get to know me, second to go over experience, third solidifying questions on pay expectations and more about the role
