I applied online for a role that showed a range of 102-140, knowing that I was at the higher end of the range but open to the opportunity. When I spoke with HR, i was told the range would be 102-108, and to read the job description more carefully. I have 10+ years of financial institution testing experience. HR rattled off a variety of regulations, and when I told her that my experience was broader than a specific regulation, they ended the call then and there, taking the last opportunity to condescend to me about the salary range. I was incredibly underwhelmed, and wouldn't apply again.
