Started with a one on one phone screening. Followed by a longer interview with multiple members of the team. Everyone was very nice, but it involved a lot of specific references.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Agios Pharmaceuticals in Aug 2011
Interview
Applied through a recruiter.
Had a phone interview with the hiring manager [about 1 hour].
He seemed very knowledgeable and very personable.
I was invited to an on-site interview about ten days later.
The HR manager was polite by somewhat distant.
Unfortunately, the hiring manager's flight was delayed due to bad weather so he never made it to the interview and I was only able to meet with some of the scientists and RAs in his group.
They all seemed very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly.
They also appeared genuinely interested in my skills and experience and quite open about their perception on how I might fit in the group.
I was expecting to be called back to meet the hiring manager, since he would be the one making the decision. A few days later, I was told via the recruiter that "Agios had enjoyed very much meeting me but they would pass".
I was disappointed, needless to say. I though I deserved a chance.
