Went all the way through the interview process, which included a series of interviews with employees of various titles (technical and non-technical). Everyone seemed very excited and eager to push me along but surprisingly didn't end up receiving an offer at the end (even after discussing a verbal offer with one of the C-level cofounders). A disappointing end to an interesting opportunity.

Question 1
Do you have any other interests, hobbies, or side jobs that would distract you from doing your work at Aha!?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Aha! (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jul 2020
Interview
I first met with their recruiter, who just got to know me a little (he reached out to me first). He set me up with a tech lead who asked me questions about how I would design Spotify's software (straightforward domain design questions). I was then interviewed by a director who asked me more design questions and what my career aspirations were. Then I interviewed with the CTO who asked me relatively detailed computer science questions. At no point did I write any code. Finally I chatted with the CEO, and then one more follow-up with the CTO. Then I got an email saying they decided to pass on me. When I asked why they'd take me through this whole long process, give me all positive feedback, and then decided not to hire me, they totally ghosted me, leaving me largely in the dark about "what's wrong with me".

Question 1
How would you design Spotify? How do playlists, artists, albums, songs, etc. all relate to each other (has many, belongs to, etc).
I am sorry to read that you feel you were left in the dark.
We work hard to provide as much information as we are able to at the end of the process. I know we spoke live. In general, when someone spends more than two hours with us, we always have a live follow-up conversation to explain our thoughts if we are not proceeding. And we understand that our explanation is sometimes disappointing and unfortunately not always satisfying.
I appreciate your candid feedback because we can always improve. We wish you the best and hope that you did or will find a great opportunity.
Had an initial video conference with a lead engineer. Talked through a number of different technical things, nothing overly complex, seemed like a good guy to work with and smart. I then had a second screening with the CTO and things fell apart. I found him rude (interrupted me in the middle of talking at least 5 times in the first 15 minutes) and a bit condescending (his criticism of my previous employer was out of line). I'm not sure what happened there (possibly other issues spilling into the interview? Not sure), but I felt like they wasted my time. They didn't offer me the job, but I wouldn't have thought twice in declining if they had.
