      Flight Nurse Interview

      May 22, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Tempe, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Air Methods (Tempe, AZ)

      Interview

Submit resume on-line and wait many days or even weeks to hear back from HR. Many give up having never heard back from HR. Very disjointed experience. If you are contacted, you will have an in-person interview with 3-4 people around a table including a regional manager, base manager, educator, etc. The interview is three part: interview, hands-on skills scenarios and then a written test.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Know your ACLS, Drugs, RSI, PHTLS or ITLS trauma. Know your rhythm strips inside and upside down and how to treat them. Know how to do pharmacology and IV gtt math under pressure. For example, how to mix a Dopamine drip and how many ml/hr you would run to achieve a dose of (for example) 10 mcg/kg/min. You will be asked to do these calculations on the fly as they hand you a calculator so be very quick and proficient with your pharmacology math.

The second interview was with base and regional directors and educators that involved scenarios and behavioral assessment.

      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Air Methods (Kennesaw, GA) in Mar 2024

      Interview

Three part process. First was an interview with a recruiter to check the minimum requirements box. Second was the critical care test, once passed you are invited to a third interview with base leadership. I applied for a part time position and was convinced by the recruiter to apply for another base full time just to find out the position was filled internally a couple days later. Finished the process for the PT and had to email multiple times to get any update. Recruiter apologized. No offer was given which I understand someone was probably more qualified, but better comms would have been appreciated.
