Contacted via 3rd party recruiting agency for the role of Global Director of Sales.
-multiple phone interviews via video chat (at the beginning & middle of covid 19 epidemic so no f2f)
I interviewed w/multiple senior leaders over the course of 2 months. Interviews went well although I got a sense early on that this company lacked a clear and defined hiring profile and interview process for this role.
When interviewing w/a senior leader - I asked about financial health of the business amid covid 19 and if Airship was expecting a pause in hiring. I was reassured that the role would move forward as this was deemed a critical role.
Long story short, I was made a verbal offer, yet it was taking almost 3 full weeks to get me an actual offer letter. As the time passed, I had another opportunity come about and I inquired w/Airship multiple times on reasons behind delay of offer. Each time the communication was more vague and less convincing. Then finally got the call that the role was being pushed out till summer 2020 at earliest and offer rescinded.
TBH I was not surprised at all. This company seemed to lack the basic business principles and fundamentals that are necessary to be successful in a todays market. No head of US sales and disparate sales reps all over the world w/little to no uniformity in tools and processes was going to make my life a lot harder than it needed to be. Ended up taking another offer a few days later.
PSA: Read the Airship employee reviews before you decide to join this company. Reviews gave me window into company operations and confirmed what my gut was telling me. Do not take this job!!
