I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Airwallex
Interview
Didn’t enjoy the process. Lots of brain teaser questions that have nothing to do with industry insights and soft skills. Feeling like I’m interviewing for a consultant role and it’s more about presentation skills and college level problem solving skills. Very few questions into my past experience in payments, how I work with engineering team and manage stakeholders, which is highly valued by other top tier companies like TikTok (got an offer for payments on a 3-1 level)
Feeling like I was evaluated as a new graduate fresh out of MBA with no value add other than “raw intelligence”.

Interview
Overall feels a lot more like consulting interview than PM.
HR phone screening+3 rounds of interview, all with the same structure(1/4 Intro&past experience, 1/2 consulting-style case/brainteaser, 1/4 Q&A), with no clear focus on each round.
Even for the final round, the questions are still super general/random. Seems like the interviewers had too little experience on payment/product to ask anything substantial.

Interview
Very smooth and professional interview process. The process was a bit long (four rounds) and the questions were thought provoking. A promising company with talented people. If you're thinking about it, I would recommend applying.
