I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Phoenix, AZ) in Jul 2014
Interview
I applied for the position - I got a call the very next day - they said for me to look for an email - then there was a video interview - it was about 2 weeks before I had heard anything - then a lady from WA called me and asked me to go and take a pee test - also alaska does a tabbaco test - they will not hire anyone who smokes...they don't want to give the extra smoke break. After they sent me to the drug test they sent me some documents to fill out for the background test - the background company was the worst. They called 4 times for the same information - even after I was hired and working at alaska airlines, the background company kept calling - finally I told them I wasn't sending any more docmentation they needed to stop calling me because I already was hired. Once your are hired - there are several tests you must pass or they will let you go. After passing all tests they send you on the floor - the employee retention is not that good. For the last three classes out of 100 employees maybe 20 people are left. Managers are the worst.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to work for us? What is your strongest quality? How would you handle an upset customer?
Several typical questions, very easy. Lasted less than 30 mins. They were eager to hire, it looks like. Let me know about the result of the interview the same day.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Palm Springs, CA)
Interview
I applied for the CSA position and answered about 50 questions . I was invited to a pre orientation presentation via Zoom. There were about 35 people on the call. It lasted an hour. Individuals were not asked any questions , but you could ask questions . We were told we would hear within the next few days if chosen for a one on one interview. Basically they have their mind made up since they do not get to know you .

Very simple, easy, and straight forward. All you have to do is go into the interview, and be yourself. Smile a lot and show the recruiters why you are the right person for the job
