I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Nov 2016
Interview
The first part of the interview process was to complete an online video assessment. For the video assessment, a question would appear on the screen for about 15 seconds and then I had 1 minute to answer each question. There were four or five questions. I was asked questions along the lines of: 1) Why AlphaSights? 2) What does AlphaSights do? 3) Why would you be a good addition to the firm? 4) What other positions are you applying to and how do they compare to AlphaSights?
After this I had a Skype interview that lasted about 30 minutes. In this interview they're interested in learning about your background and how it reflects who you are and what you'd like to achieve (Why your college? Why your major? Why AlphaSights? etc.), your understanding of what you'd be doing at AlphaSights as an Associate and why this is of interest to you, how the career path at AlphaSights evolves over time, and why you are pursuing this opportunity and how it fits with your career path. Also more generally, questions included: Are you good at working on a team and why? What is an example of where you worked on a team and took on a leadership position? What are your weaknesses when working on a team? What made you interested in AlphaSights? What do you see yourself doing in the next 5-10 years? What is the value-add of what AlphaSights does?
Easy and transparent with steps and timeline. Took about 2 weeks from start to offer but flexible with timing of interviews, you make times mostly, with final round as exception
questions about resume and applicability to the role, also asked what other roles i’m recruiting for. didn’t get a second interview but i wasn’t too enthusiastic —- wish I’d rehearsed my answers to why Alphasights before
