Overall, it was an un-professional process.
I applied online and within two days was reached out to complete an online one-sided interview. It was I believe only three questions and pretty easy to complete.
After that, within a week, I was contacted to speak over video with a HR representative. While the HR rep was nice enough, it was abundantly clear that she was reading off a pre-determined script. She looked down the whole time and did not engage at all as I answered question. I find this method to be highly robotic and create little meaningful discussion.
After the video interview, I was e-mailed and asked to come to NYC for an on-sight interview. I accepted and gave dates for when I could come. I was then asked to provide more dates, which I happily did. Then: radio silence. A little over a week passed until I e-mailed inquiring where they were in the process with scheduling my interview. I was only contacted over a week later and notified that they were quickly filling up positions but that they would stay in contact about possibly scheduling a final round. Then, a week later I was given a standard e-mail saying all positions had filled up.
In the end, it was a highly unprofessional experience. They scheduled me to go in for an on-site interview only to then proceed with silence for nearly two weeks and then send an automatic response that all positions had filled up. In doing so, they wasted my time when I could be focusing my efforts elsewhere, as it was clear they were not highly interested in me.
They have recruited agressively at my university, I know of roughly ten other people who have interviewed but none have received an offer. It is clear they are recruiting heavily for a small number of positions to put their company name out there. In doing so, however, they waste people's time and efforts.
I suggest AlphaSights focus more on the individuals they actually want rather interviewing everyone they can think of and make their hiring process more engaging and meaningful.
