I applied online. I interviewed at AlphaSights (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2020
Interview
4-step Interview Process:
1. Self-recorded Interview: Very quick and easy 4 questions with 1 minute to answer each one, they just want to see that you're a person beyond the resume (you can find some of the more specific questions they ask in other interview reviews).
2. Recruiter Interview: 45 mins, again pretty easy, no "gotcha" questions, they're mainly just trying to see how engaged you are outside of your classes and if you have a basic understanding of what AlphaSights does and the 4 different categories of clients they deal with.
3. Case-Study Interview: 2 hours long, 1st hour is spent finding potential advisors you would contact via LinkedIn based off of info that is given to you in cases created by a manager - you have 15 minutes to identify two people for two cases (4 people total) and then you walk through why you chose these people (not too hard as they provide you with companies you could look into as part of the case information). 2nd hour is then roleplaying a call with one of these potential advisors that you identified (again not too hard, you just have to be able to succinctly describe what AlphaSights does and provide key info like how quick the timeline is and how much you could pay them for their services). A few other behavioral questions are also thrown in there.
4. VP Interview: 1 hour long interview with two members of senior leadership in the office you are interviewing at. Again there really is no-gotcha type questions, they really are just digging deep into your motivations for wanting to work at AlphaSights and how you think some of your past experiences may help you in the job.
I ultimately did not receive an offer although I made it to the last round and was pretty confident in my interview performance, but I had a positive experience overall and have nothing but good things to say about the recruitment process!

Question 1
Q: What are the 4 categories of organizations that AlphaSights works with?
Initial call with a recruiter to gain an insight into the role. This was followed by two subsequent calls with more senior members of staff which entailed more technical questions. A language test also had to be carried out.

Question 1
Describe a situation in which you had to work under pressure.
The interview process was three rounds. Initial screening, one on one interview, I didn't make it past the second round, but there was a final interview with team lead afterward.

Question 1
Role a play a scenario based on the case study you're given.
Stay away. Realized how much of a scam it is as I went through- ended on my own accord after final round. There will be no exit opportunities with this company whatsoever. You will be stuck. Know some friends who have worked here and regret every second of it.
