I applied through other source. I interviewed at AlphaSights in Feb 2021
Interview
AlphaSights loves connecting themselves to private equity firms and management consulting companies to market themselves, but the truth is that the company is basically just a glorified call center. The pay is actually quite decent and pretty much the only thing that drew me to the company. However, the work is really quite menial and the interviewers seemed rather unpleasant, almost like they were bored talking with you.
First real round is behavioral, just making sure you aren't a complete nutjob (there's also a video recording round before that). Second round was the "case", and I use this term very loosely. It was pretty much "here's a company that needs help with a project, go on LinkedIn and find me some experts that can talk with the client". That's pretty much it. No technical skill (other than familiarity with LinkedIn) or analytical skills required. As you can imagine, this is incredibly menial and the thought of doing this repeatedly for several long hours each day was too much.
Admittedly, I did not receive an offer and this may come off as sour grapes but this is just my take so do what you will. I ultimately took up another position at a different company and am honestly glad to have been rejected. I only came on here to warn others after my friend was almost suckered into an interview and I heard about AlphaSights' incessant posting on job boards. Overall, excessively lengthy interview process, cold employees, and very menial work.
