I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights in Feb 2021
Interview
I was contacted through Handshake, attended their webinars which supposedly fast-tracked the application process, and then had 3 interviews. The whole process took a little over a month.
The first interview was with someone from recruiting. I had general questions about resume/background and some behavioral questions. Heard back from them less than a week later for interview #2.
The second interview was a 2-hour long process! First half I had to do a case study. I was given about 15 minutes to complete it and the interviewer left the call during that time. They then went over my answers and asked some more questions about the exercise. The second half of the interview was another traditional/behavioral interview with a manager. Heard back from them in less than a week and scheduled the next interview about two weeks out.
The third interview — from what I know this is the last of them— was with a VP. They explained the role a bit more in depth and asked some more questions. Received an answer about a week later.
My key takeaways:
- Recruiting process was fast and the team was incredibly nice.
- The case study webinar/case studies on their website weren’t very helpful for the actual case interview.
- Interview #2 was designed to be stressful so be prepared to be unprepared.
- Having 3 interviews feels like a lot for an entry level sales job. However, by the end it was very clear what the role would be and how the company operated since I got to meet people at all levels.
- No one actually admitted it was a sales job until the very end!! I did go in knowing it’d be a part of the job, but most people I talked to really tiptoed around the fact.
- Make sure you ask questions about stuff people mention on here like quotas and daily work to see if you’d like the role. I though the team was pretty open about how things operated when you asked them directly. I didn’t like/want the role after the 2nd interview but I finished the process and it was a good learning experience.
Easy and transparent with steps and timeline. Took about 2 weeks from start to offer but flexible with timing of interviews, you make times mostly, with final round as exception
