I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Jul 2023
Interview
This is for people of color. Please be weary. I have gone through the interview process for 4 weeks. I connected with Alumni who work here and I attended the AlphaSights open House. Through my research and observations through the interview process there seems to be some sketchy things. 1st thing I noticed on their website there is very little on diversity and inclusion for people of color. 2nd when I went to the Alphasights open House in NY ALL the client Services associates were white and all the the higher ups including managers, VPs and Directors white. The company is very focused on recruiting from Ivy League schools and pride themselves on that. Which I don't think is a plus especially because a very few percentage of people of color go to Ivy leagues schools. All my interviews were conducted by white individuals. The VP was very rude and in a rush. People who I do know that work there that are people of color don't seem happy or appreciated. The recruiting process seems very focused on what "elite" institution you go to. If you want to work here be sure to research and research every ounce of this company. My first 2 interviews were great. The second interview with the case study I nailed perfectly. The Manager was very impressed and said that I hit it perfectly. The last round I was very prepared with my answers however the VP just seemed they did not want to be there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: What is bread process? Q: Explain the associate role?
the first ai round was really easy. then the actaully first round was also Pretty easy first round. Asks you the basic questions. tell me about urself, what do you do at school etc.
I only attended the first interview. The HR manager was neither friendly nor unfriendly. It was just a normal screening interview. Only self-introduction and motivation for application were conducted in English, and the rest were conducted in Korean. The HR manager asked questions focusing on my background and history rather than understanding the job itself.
First round all behavioral. Mostly talking about previous experiences, how it applies to AlphaSights, and why AlphaSights is a fit role. Wasn't difficult, but unfortunately did don't get selected for some reason even though I thought it went very well.
