Initially, I was contacted by a third-party HR agency outside of AlphaSights 10 months ago. I attended the interview, but it was a waste of time. He said I was inarticulate in speaking English, but he had a thick Indonesian accent and grammatical mistakes which difficult to understand. Then, 3 months later, I was reached out directly by the current HR at AlphaSights HK via LinkedIn who invited me to attend the virtual Insights Day/Recruitment talk hosted by the newly promoted Manager from UK.
I told her that I was no longer interested because I was invited by their competitor (I ain't tell her this reason), but she begged and convinced me to join. After attending, I was suggested to reapply 6 months after the first interview. As you can guess, I WAS REJECTED TWICE. It just really WASTE OF TIME. No wonder she re-approached me as she might be desperate since many asian language speakers were resigned or fired due to frat cultures.
Just want to remind you, this company has a high turnover rate which means more people left than hired despite they have high demand on Client Service roles. If you are a social butterfly, can't work under pressure, and have mentally sensitive self-esteem, I suggest to not work here. DO NOT trust their claim being the GREAT PLACE TO WORK recently. You better trust honest reviews on Glassdoor as they can't hide or remove them. I am so glad I did not get this job. Otherwise, I might have suicidal confessions. Gladly, I have an offer in hand with overall 5.0-star reviews on Glassdoor, Indeed, and Fortune since nominated as the best place to work in various metrics, not a utopia like AlphaSights.
After carefully seeing other reviews, the only pro is this company has a youth culture and respects fresh graduates though we currently face a global uncertain economic outlook. The problem is acccording to research, Gen Z consider Work Life Balance and Flexible time, so this company might crossed over line.
Advice to Management: PLEASE DO NOT USE HIRING AGENCY. very unprofessional, inefficient, and just a waste hiring budget. If you were interviewed by the hiring agency, it would add 1 step more (7 stages in total), as there are 6 stages to get into this company. It would be better if you had a job fair at prestigious colleges to introduce the company at a glance.
