Altman Solon Consultant interview questions

The interview process consisted of 3 rounds of interviews. The first involved a 30 minute conversation with HR that a short behavioral component to it. Salary expectations, location preferences and project experiences were also discussed. This was then followed by 2 rounds of 45 minute case interviews conducted by peers at your level. The first 15 minute of each case interview were dedicated to behavioral questions. These questions didn't seem like it was an important component of the interview as it was mostly made up on the spot. The only thing to note is that the interviewers do go somewhat beyond superficial levels when discussing your experience, so expect to be ready to get some curveballs (you probably won't be able to prepare for these questions as interviewers will wing them). The next 30 minutes or so of the case interviews were dedicated to interviewer-led case questions. Cases were TMT focused but did not seem to be out of the ordinary (e.g. typical profitabilty, GTM, M&A, market sizing cases that you encounter during case prep). However, cases are more quantitative, as in, you should ideally tie your framework back to something that is quantifiable if possible instead of taking a more qualitative approach. Cases were straightforward but be prepared to have to update your frameworks and make changes to your structures as you go and gain more information to the case. One of the interviews seem to have more of a stress element to it so be prepared for that I guess. Overall, you should expect to perform as well as someone who could get into MBB if you want to pass the case interviews.
