I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Altman Solon (New York, NY) in Jan 2021
Interview
Disappointing. Had two interviews back to back. The first interviewer joined the call 10 minutes late and didn't know he had an interview scheduled. I was wearing a suit and tie. He had on a hoodie and t-shirt.
The second interviewer asked THREE questions about the first job I had when I was 14 years old, spending more time on that than my recent consulting experience. I was presented with a case, which as it happened I had practical experience in handling. However, the interviewer wanted none of that and kept trying to steer me toward his case answers.
I have never been so glad to get off a phone call so quickly.

Interviewer led case - related to TMT, pretty standard case questions that evaluate business intuition and mental math

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to work with no structure or no previous framework.
Very straight forward interview, albeit very challenging. The case interview questions were standard market sizing scenarios and were extremely quant heavy. Be prepared for math and to be pushed against on your ultimate recommendations.
Had a call from HR and had me arranged a 2 back to back case interview within a week, pretty intense. The cases were related to media and technology, very quantitative. The interviewers are quite friendly though.
