This was by far the strangest and most inept recruitment process I have ever experienced. To start, I had a 6am phone screen with a recruiter who was 10 minutes late. Standard early-round, high-level questions. I followed up regarding next steps, but was ghosted for 4 weeks. Surprisingly, I was then contacted (was told the delay was because of internal issues around the role -- a lie -- more on that later), told the hiring manager wanted to speak with me, and asked for dates and times I would be available. I provided such, but was ghosted again. Followed up with updated date/time availabilities and ghosted yet again. Then surprisingly, I was contacted and told someone they'd offered the role to some time ago changed course and decided to accept. Absurdity at its finest.
