I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Nov 2017
Interview
The overall interview process took little more than one and half months (last week of November'17 to second week of January'18)
The recruiter called me in the third week of November, discussed the JD and arranged for an onsite interview for the first week of December
There were three round of interviews in the first week of December and Three more rounds in the second week of January.
Interviews focussed mainly on Product Design, Program Management and Behavioral.
My review:
Out of the six interviewers,
Professionalism: Five of them were professional and One was rude
Technical Skills: Two of them were Good, Three were Average and One was a low energy and low confidence dull person with below average technical skills
Overall Technical Difficulty: EASY
Overall Process: Interviews were very Mechanical and Not too effective. It is good that Amazon has a process in place for interviews, but am sorry to say that the interviewers i met did not impress me on organizational value or technical expertise. Though the process is meant to eliminate inefficiencies and subjectivity, the interviewers do bring in subjectivity and effectively bring down the purpose.
it is good experience. The interviewer are polite and respectful. They would ask many questions like "tell me a time when..." and might drill down a bit based on your responses.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me a time when you make a short term pain for long term gain for the program.
El proceso es largo, en total son en promedio 7 entrevistas, de las cuales 5 son en loop, lo que significa que estas 5 entrevistas pueden ser el mismo dia, una tras otra, de una hora cada una
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon in May 2026
Interview
Lots of "story telling" they don't care about what you would do. Only "tell me a time you...". They take their time to interview and encourage many many weeks between rounds. The people and interviewers were extremely robotic and don't make it so you want to work there. Their reputation doesn't help either.
