After a month of scheduling and taking tests online I traveled to Amazon's office only to find an internal scheduling problem meant one person was not available and the whole interview was cancelled. I asked if I could do a partial interview and follow up later with the final person and they said they can't do that and I have to reschedule the whole thing. I worked with several different recruiter and none of them were coordinating with each other well. I was told by one recruiter that I was listed as confirmed for a new interview but I had never confirmed this. I ended up interviewing in person and found out the role was an Amazon Level 4 role with a different title than the Level 5 position I was told before hand I was interviewing for. Also, I found out once I showed up in person that I was interviewing to work with a technology that is not one of my strengths and it was a bit baffling they had me interviewing for it. The actual interview was as described here on glassdoo in difficulty and scope. It lasted a little over 4 hours and they screened for tech skills as well as personality traits. The interview was comprehensive but not difficult. The whole process was a disaster and wasted much of my time as well as the time of the Amazon employees who were interviewing me. I ended up taking several days off of work at my current job to apply for a junior position I would not have accepted anyway. It ended with me not receiving an offer but the main recruiter did offer to answer any questions by email. I asked if there was another role or team I should look at for another interview and my emails were ignored.
