I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Apr 2019
Interview
application started in 2/19. First Feedback 1 Month later. First Interview end of 2/19. Second Interview in 4/19. In 4/18 announcement that i will have a personal interview. Then 3 Months no news, update, nothing (despite 2 times demand from my side). Suddenly by the end of 7/19 invitation to personal interview. I denied, because that was way too slow (had another job in the meantime) ....
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First Phone Interview: Standard Amazon questions, no personal questions, could be done by computer...(i understand that recruiting masses of peoplae must be standardized somehow, but at least we are humans...)
Second phone interview: Some procedure though having a person on eye level on the other end of the line, who obviously felt totally uncomfortable because he had to rattle down the standard questions
Personal Interview (Preparation): I was asked to answer the invitation frint up with a small essay which would be discussed in the interview.... ok, kind of assessment, more than fair. but they scheduled several meetings with different persons for a total time of 5-6 hours! incredible....
it is good experience. The interviewer are polite and respectful. They would ask many questions like "tell me a time when..." and might drill down a bit based on your responses.

Tell me a time when you make a short term pain for long term gain for the program.
El proceso es largo, en total son en promedio 7 entrevistas, de las cuales 5 son en loop, lo que significa que estas 5 entrevistas pueden ser el mismo dia, una tras otra, de una hora cada una
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon in May 2026
Interview
Lots of "story telling" they don't care about what you would do. Only "tell me a time you...". They take their time to interview and encourage many many weeks between rounds. The people and interviewers were extremely robotic and don't make it so you want to work there. Their reputation doesn't help either.
