Amazon recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn saying that i would be a perfect fit for Area Manager's position, since it is basically the same what i was doing at my work at that time. We had a friendly and pleasant phone interview.
After i got to do some online assessment test.
And after that i got invited for an in-person interview. Which was the worst interview experience i ever had. It was long (3 hours) and exhausting, questions very difficult, at some point it makes you wonder are you interviewing for some Project Manager or higher position... I think the bar is set too high unnecessarily. Area Manager is the lowest management position in Amazon fulfillment centers, but it feels that they are looking for some geniuses. Anyways, i am a Caucasian woman and i was interviewed separately by 3 men, all of them being from the same background and ethnicity, which i think resulted in me not getting an offer quite much. There should be a diversity in my opinion. Otherwise i can't find another reason for not getting an offer: my experience, education and skills were exactly what was required, even more. I answered all the questions in STAR method, all my answers were based on real projects i have done in my previous work experience.
I left the interview drained, tired, with a headache and sour feeling...
