      AWS Cloud Support Associate Interview

      Dec 29, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon

      Interview

Recruiter reached out saying my resume looked like a good fit for the position and recommended applying if I was interested. Applied and received the first round interview which was an online simulator used to see how you react to different situations. Amazon used their own platform so made your browser look similar to what you might see while working there (emails, notes, wiki pages). Questions were basically common sense do what is best for the customer...ones like "here is three people who need something from you which one would you do first". Second part of that was 20+ multiple choice networking questions. A little difficult because there is obviously a right choice. Made it past that round and got a phone interview. 2 hours long via another Amazon platform but was similar to Zoom or Microsoft Teams. First hour was all behavior or situational based questions. When asking the questions my interviewer always said to use my professional experience, which being a college student about to graduate I don't have a ton so had to pull from my class work or academics which I don't think is what they wanted. Also asked a lot of questions about things I've done wrong (when is a time you received negative feedback being one of them) but there were multiple choices focusing on negative aspects of things I've done. I expected a couple and with every job interview have examples of ways I've messed up and how I learned but it seemed almost every other questions was for me to use a negative situation and I quickly ran out of "bad" things I've done. Second hour was all technical questions. Like I said I'm about to be a new grad and don't have a ton of professional experience but used what I learned in the classroom however they asked for further details on most of the questions and "use what I have done in a professional setting" to help answer which I repeatedly had to say I didn't have much. Overall interviewers seemed to be disinterested and unhelpful.
