Interview consisted of two back-to-back 45 minute video call interviews (total 90 minutes). I hear they are usually in person but mine was using Amazon’s internal Chime video conferencing app due to COVID. I first met with a senior level software engineer who asked behavioral questions. I found the behavioral interview to be quite hard as they asked a lot of specific questions that would usually be aimed for a higher level designer rather than an intern (like, “Tell me about a time you had to design something where what the user wanted was different than what the client or stakeholders wanted.”) For the behavioral interview, be prepared to talk about specific projects, obstacles, successes, etc. and to do so in detail. My interviewer pressed further with a lot of follow-up detailed questions. I stumbled with a few friends of them but as long as you answer the questions with a lot of detail, you will be OK. The second portion was a portfolio review with a senior UX designer. This part I found to be much easier. Make sure to have other UX designers look at your portfolio before your interview and give you feedback. You will need to show your process in developing a project (how you went about your research, what your findings were, how you developed a solution, wireframes, prototyped, iterated, tested, etc.)
