I submitted for one position as an LP Manager at one of their fulfillment centers. I had a phone interview with a counterpart to the position. That conversation was fairly positive, but I did not hear back for 1.5 months. Out of the blue, I get a call from a recruiter asking if I would be interested in the same position at a different facility. Without any additional phone screening, they flew me out to the facility for interviews.
1st, I toured the facility with a nice young lady. I was very impressed with the operation. I was then set down with with a Sr. operator and a counterpart to the position. The questions asked were fairly typical, but when I would give an answer that is normally acceptable, they would keep prodding further. After about 4 follow-up questions, they would act like I had not answered the question. Throughout the interview, the Sr. operator acted bored/annoyed and even yawned throughout the process.
I was then taken to meet the GM and the HR manager. Neither one of them were to be found. I waited about 20 min and the HR guy showed up. He seemed unprepared and just kinda asked me to talk about myself. The GM finally showed up in the middle. He came off as very arrogant and condescending. He asked fairly standard questions, but he would act as though I was an idiot. After about 20 min into what was supposed to be an hour, the GM abruptly said that he had no more questions, and ended it. It was as though he was saying "We'll I've seen enough!" That was on Tuesday, the following Saturday morning, I was told by a recruiter that none of the four final candidates were accepted, including me. I was informed that I could not be given any feedback because it is forbidden.
As you will see from the other reviews, my experience was pretty typical. Another important issue to note is the fact that 4 of the 5 people I met with had been around for less than 3 years. That's not a good sign. They appear to have an incredibly customer focused culture, to the detriment of the employees. They appear to be full of themselves and you are supposed to be thoroughly honored just to have the opportunity to bask in their greatness.
Overall, I would say that the whole thing was a waste of time for everyone. They should really do more phone screening before tying up 1/2 of a week to fly a candidate out. Given my experience, IF they were to give me an offer, I was not likely to accept.
