I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amdocs (Pune)
Interview
My interview process consisted of
A personal interview which focused upon my individual area of interest and capability.
Marketing questions were asked to me, about how I will add value to the organization.
The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amdocs in Feb 2011
Interview
The HR person contacted me by email to schedule an early morning phone call. About an hour before the interview, she sent me an email canceling due to illness. Appended to her email was a set of free-form essay questions to respond to - topics we would have covered in the phone screen. Not wanting to rewrite War and Peace by diving too deep into a response, I took the light approach, offering to provide info if necessary. Left a VM asking if there was any feedback/was more information needed.
A couple of weeks later, I got another email wanting to schedule an in-person interview with a hiring manager. She sent a street address, but parking directions would have really been appreciated. Enjoyed my time with the hiring manager and was told to expect follow-up from the HR person in the next few days.
When I didn't, so I proactively called the HR contact again. Followed-up with email. Left a second VM in another week. Another week passed, so I tried finding the hiring manager's contact information and left a brief note with him, copying the HR person.
A couple of weeks later, after I accepted another position, I received (wait for it...) an email from the HR person telling me they were going to continue searching. I would offer them these obvious suggestions:
* Set expectations for the a time-frame to expect follow-up. Stick to it.
* If you have no information, please just say so.
* When inviting a candidate for interview, please provide recommendations for parking. It would also be nice if you reimbursed for the expense.
* Essay interview questions via email are considered poor form.
