      Real Estate Agent Interview

      Apr 2, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Ameren

      Interview

Phone pre-interview, actual interview video conference, lasted about 45 mins. I give this a negative experience as they never notified me after the interview whether I got the job or not. Yes, after awhile you figure you didn't get it, but I have never interviewed at a company where they never told you the results of an interview. It's common courtesy and professional to let interviewees know. My advice to Ameren is to continue your pre interview professionalism through the post interview process.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ameren (Saint Louis, MO)

      Interview

Received a telephone call from HR, asking to set up a telephone screening. The telephone interview was straightforward and the representative just asked general questions about my resume. It generally seemed to be test to make sure you could elaborate on what you put on your resume and to make sure you were well-spoken and such. Got a call a few days later and they wanted to set up an in-person meeting at headquarters. Ameren uses behavioral interviewing during the in-person interview, where you have to respond to questions using the "SHARE" model (describing the situation, the hindrance, the action you took, the result, and how you would evaluate yourself). There were maybe 8 questions or so and the interview took about 45 minutes. There were two hiring managers in the room, as well as an HR representative, and they took turns asking questions. There wasn't much discussion or general chatter otherwise, but it seemed as if they were following a strict process. The questions were only difficult because you have to respond using the "SHARE" model, which makes responses lengthy and generally unnatural. They didn't ask any questions about my real estate experience, or previous work experience--only the behavioral-type questions (i.e., "describe a time when...").

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Q: Describe a time that you had to make a decision that wasn't popular. Q: Describe how you manage a heavy workload.
