I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at American Eagle Outfitters (Fort Myers, FL) in Apr 2013
Interview
I was a walk in applicant, and when I turned in my filled in application the assistant manager asked a few questions and scheduled me for an interview on the spot. When I came in for the interview, the manager had had some time management issues and I ended up interviewing with another girl. The manager asked about previous job experience, what we knew about the company, why we wanted to work there, etc. We then had to take a personality test on the computers in the store. After it was all over, she told us that we would be called the following Wednesday on if we got the job or not. I didn't get a call on Wednesday, so I called the store and was told there was an issue so I would be called at a later date. I got the job offer the next day. The orientation was fine if not a little, there were about seven of us so you can figure out how long it took.

Interview
Very chill. Wear something that they would sell at AEO, don't wear full business attire. They asked very standard questions and hired me on the spot. They just want to get to know you and aren't testing any sales skills.
