I had an initial phone screening with HR followed by an interview a week later with the department's manager. The phone screening was fine and included a standard review of my qualifications and personality. However the in person interview was in my opinion deeply unprofessional. The manager's main concern was that employees do her bidding with no collaboration or input, most pointedly conveyed through her hypothetical anecdote that if she asked her employees to paint the wall of the conference room blue she expected to be asked what shade. She also answered a non-urgent cell phone call from her teenage daughter during my interview, as well as remarked on an employee returning late from lunch in the parking lot behind my seat. She took no interest in my work history nor potential contributions to her team and I found myself so demoralized by her demeanor in the span of that hour that I could barely respond when she ended the interview with "so why do you want the job?" I went to shake her hand in the lobby as we exited and say thank you/have a great weekend etc, and she barely obliged with a weak handshake and practically walked off without saying a word. As a vintage millennial who has been a highly loyal employee (spending eight years at my last company), I found her behavior totally abhorrent.
