Only had a phone interview where the recruiter asked me if I had a degree (my resume reflects that I attended 3 years of college as a pre-med student prior to embarking on a different career trajectory), so I am unsure why this became the focus of the interview.
With 12 years of experience now in the healthcare industry, I was amazed that the recruiter spent 15 minutes of our 20 minute conversation preaching to me about the importance of a college degree and asking me if I planned to finish school. Typically, I would have built a case for why the importance of a 4-year degree is often overrated, but her sentiment left a poor taste in my mouth and I was happy to end the call early. I withdrew my application when the call ended.
