I applied in-person. I interviewed at American Water
Interview
There was a Phone screen followed by a panel interview. They use the Star method of conducting an interview. Read the provided instructions to prepare for the interview. The interviewers were pretty friendly overall.
Behavioral interview with 2 people. Background information was sent beforehand to an HR person. They reviewed and set up the interview at the local plant. A lot of tell me a time questions. Got to also speak to workers doing the job.

Question 1
Tell me a time you did not get along with a co worker but you had to complete a project.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Water (Philadelphia, PA) in Sep 2019
Interview
A headhunter contacted me in September 2019 for a full time opening at American Water’s Camden riverfront HQ and wanted me to look into the opportunity. Initially, I was not keen and respectfully declined to submit my resume because, firstly, I am not from the utility/services domain. Secondly, the job description was not very compelling to me. However, the headhunter insisted on sending the resume, which I did.
To my surprise, I got an email that they want to talk to me urgently.

Question 1
Principal Product Manager called, he was a nice guy he and I spoke for 45 minutes. The mainly behavioral question, how do you manage conflict, manage other stakeholders, prioritize the backlog, and how they are planning a cloud-based strategy and transformation, and my Azure experience and analytics will be very beneficial, I was thrilled. Within a week onsite panel interview was scheduled, and I received an email from HR with details – directions, where to park, what to wear, how to prepare for an interview (few links), who I will be meeting with Sr. Managers and VP’s/C-Level. Very professional and impressive, but things are not always as they seem; the first appearance deceives many.
