I’ve had a poor experience with the internal recruiter I’ve dealt with here. I’ve gotten mixed messages, zero follow-up / follow-through, and he’s lacked the professional courtesy of basic correspondence regarding a position, after I prompted him on its status. Twice. Maybe I wasn’t a fit? A note stating as much might be appropriate for someone who has: drafted a cover letter, taken their ‘assessment test,’ (oh yeah be ready for a surprise IQ-esque 50 question online assessment they’ll casually mention (I was maybe expecting a Meyers Briggs or personality quiz?) about 2 hours before asking for it to be completed. ‘No calculators please!’)) … reserved time for a phone screening, and stayed in touch / watched the job posting board for months…. For an “elite company,” Amherst shows poorly in this department, which is unfortunate, considering it’s the only immediately visible one for prospective hires. Perhaps this young, smart group hides their talent elsewhere at the firm.
