The recruiter from Amyris reached out to me for an opportunity and the discussion went very well, so there was a subsequent phone interview that went well and the recruiter invited me onsite for onsite interviews with the team. So far so good, right? When I went onsite to meet with the team, the interviews started off fine, but one of my interviews was supposed to be a phone interview and the interviewer was apparently unavailable, so I waited i the room for the next interviewer and apparently the times were overlapped, or delayed, or something. Once, I finally sat down with that interviewer, the interview was rushed and the individual seemed really bothered to be meeting with me. At that point, I wanted to keep an open mind to the process as there was still one additional interviewer to meet with and she was very friendly and apologetic. When the interview was over I was rushed to the door by someone else I had never met and I was really unsure of next steps, or what to anticipate. I gave the recruiter ample time over the next week to get back to me with next steps and rescheduling the interview, but never heard anything. Although, I had already decided that Amyris was not the place for me and knew I did not want to move forward, I was let down by their lack of professionalism. I was frustrated that the recruiter and rest of the team could not seem to get their act together and at least provide some courtesy. I really feel as though I dodged a bullet by not moving further with the company, but it saddens me that a company so focused on growing a scaling a business cannot seem to understand how to even treat their candidates. I would not recommend this company if you consider yourself any type of professional! They just do not treat you with any ounce of respect.
