Applied online and was scheduled a video screening with the recruiter within a week. Recruiter was super friendly and informative, and I left feeling excited about the position. Got told a few days later that I was to move forward with a 1:1 virtual interview with the hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager was the strangest interviews I've ever had. For the 30 minute allotted time, they just tooted their own horn - speaking about themselves and their career achievements for genuinely about 25 of those minutes. I seriously was asked one or two generic questions and that's it (following the interview, when I left the room to get some water, my roommate asked me if my interview had started yet because they hadn't heard me speaking at all) At the end of the interview, they let me know that I was the first person they were interviewing because I "have a lot of great experience" and my "resume stood out the the most," but was told a few weeks later that they moved forward with other candidates. I don't know how I was ruled out because I seriously shared nothing about myself and my experience, but I ultimately feel like I dodged a bullet based on that manager.
