The initial conversation went well. Based on my past experience we discussed many opportunities such as potential growth w/in the company and a confidence for a higher pay rate. Everything seemed promising even opportunity to work more hours with a sister brand. They mentioned they had interviewed 12 people prior and that I was the best fit. They expressed there was an urgency to fill the role and next steps were to fill out paperwork. After a couple more emails and phone calls everything seemed to be backpedaling. Suddenly the growth opportunity was unsure and maybe in 3 years. The high pay bracket needed to be approved by her superior which took 2 weeks for a response. The additional hours with the sister brand suddenly disappeared. It was wild and really unfortunate that the initial excitement slowly dwindled into a bunch of question marks with little support. Ultimately I declined because I'm a firm believer in having the passion for what you do and who you do it with and I was left with too many question marks and flip flop agreements.
