I’ve interviewed at just about every top tier company and this was by far the worst experience. The first several interviews went well as I met with various members of leadership and they were all asking great questions and seemed generally interested in my background and experience.
The “final panel” was a joke and I found the cmo and one of the other vps to be rude and borderline unprofessional. Some of the questions asked: “I see you did not attend an Ivy League university, what makes you extraordinary?” Another loaded question “what’s your dream job to work for” when I responded non ab company the cmo responded with a follow up question “well why don’t you go work for them then”.
Ab acts like their culture is the best in the world and that they had some sort of epiphany that being transparent and forward is the key to success. Every top company hires the best talent and is direct with feedback. Welcome to 2020 ab, if only
your products and dinosaur management style could adapt, the stock price over the last 5 years might not be flat. Very unimpressed with the marketing techniques of this company as they just throw money at products without clear strategy. Even more unimpressed with how they treat candidates.
Friends in cpg warned me that ab is non for a toxic culture but I went though with it anyway. All I can say is save your time and interview with companies that value employees and candidates.
