I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Ankura
Interview
Relatively relaxed, move at your own pace, attitude due to off-cycle and experienced hire process. Spoke to multiple people from all levels and completed technical assessment with a mid-level manager.
The interview process included an initial HR screening followed by two technical interviews that covered my experience and problem‑solving skills. The process concludes with a partner fit interview focused on culture and communication (which I did not reach).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you had to choose between hitting the deadline or preventing a potential long‑term risk, which one would you prioritize and what trade‑offs would you accept?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ankura (Hong Kong)
Interview
1. Initial Interview - with Director/Senior Director
2. Technical test - Case Study
3. HR Interview - online interview since HR is based in the UK
4. Final Interview - with Senior Managing Director
The final interview was with two SMDs, and one of them started to specific questions about LGBT stuffs which made the interview super awkward and displayed a certain lack of professionalism (same also happened with the Senior Director who interviewed me during the technical interview); was mainly due to this reason that I decline their offer to join.
The proposed salary was also below average, I was offered only HKD20,000, for someone with 4 years Big4 experience, it sounded like a joke.
