Interview
I was contacted by a 3rd party recruiter who found my LinkedIn profile. After a preliminary phone screening, she set up a face to face interview within days. It was over dinner at a restaurant near my office! Quite unusual and informal. A few days later I was asked to fly out to the site where they wanted me to relocate to. I flew out early in the morning and interviewed all day with probably 10-15 different people. People even took me out to lunch and questioned me over hamburgers. It was a long and grueling day, and I thought I'd done poorly on some parts. A few days later I was called back and offered a position but I needed to start right away. I accepted, packed up a few things, locked up my house and drove out to start the job. It all happened very quickly; from initial email contact to the first day of work was about a month!

In person panel interview - a little overwhelming. Interviewer missed the first interview, had to reschedule. A little unprofessional but mistakes happen. Questions were random like “how do you feel about oil and gas” ?
