      Junior Javascript Developer Sumo Interview

      Mar 20, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AppSumo (Austin, TX) in Mar 2017

      Interview

Similar to the other JS interview on here, I was given a lengthy project to work on. Nothing was said about UI being important, or was I ever offered compensations for my time or even the cost of hosting. I did spend a lot of time working on the UI anyway, I followed the "google material design" standards down to a T. After I finished the project I was told that it was given over to the CTO, Chad. I could tell by the traffic that he looked at it for less than a minute and never even logged in to the admin side (the main part of the project). Needless to say my code was never looked at either. 11 days after the 1 minute session from Chad, I was still hosting the site and hadn't heard anything back so I emailed them and I was told "the team has decided not to move forward with your application", with no reason given. Total waste of my time, and maybe yours if you try to apply.
