-Applied online, received an email from the in-house recruiter the next day to schedule a time to do a WF assessment. -Since it is a two-hour assessment, I had to do it on the weekend. -I was told the department had reviewed my assessment and I "passed" it, therefore, I was moved forward to the next stage of the interview where I met one on one with the in-house recruiter. -The WF manager was supposed to be part of the interview, however, she was stuck in a meeting and couldn't join. -Throughout the interview, the recruiter explicitly mentioned that she was very proud of working for Aritzia (Yay, good for her) and they only wanted people that truly understand their brand. -The interview finished quickly (around 30 minutes), at that time, I knew I wasn't the right "fit" for them, despite being a long time loyal customer of Aritzia. (I am still a loyal customer after this, no hard-feelings at all =]). -Not surprisingly, I received an update from the recruiter two days after the interview and told me I would not be moved forward. -The recruiter was very efficient and quick with updates, which resulted in the entire process only taking around a week. -One absurd thing about this position is that they preferred the candidate for the role to be a CPA/CFA, but when asked if they actually have any CPA/CFAs working as WF planners, they don't. They only have people who have accounting/finance background working as WF planners. Seriously, there is an ENORMOUS difference between CPA/CFA and people who have education in basic accounting/finance...Also, after taking the WF assessment, which is fairly representative of what the WF planners normally do for their scope of work, CPA/CFA will be completely over-qualified for this position.
