I applied online. I interviewed at Aritzia (Greenwich, CT) in Sep 2021
Interview
Let me start this off by saying that I first declined meeting with them after learning about how they treat their black employees and customers. This specific location assured me that they don't condone discrimination of any kind and begged me to give them a chance.
I came by and needless to say, I was the ONLY black woman in the store. One of the style advisors noticed my perfume and complimented me, as did a few other customers. They asked what scent I was wearing and we conversed for a moment. At this point, I thought that I made a good impression so far.
I met with the store manager and we then went outside. She asked me a few basic questions. I asked her several questions about the role and the company. She then asked if I wanted to shop in the store(to which I respectfully declined). The next day, I received an email saying that they "decided to go in a different direction, but will keep your resume for future opportunities."
By "different direction", I'm assuming that they meant "white". It felt as if they interviewed me just to fill their diversity quota. Keep in mind, the position has been open for two months. Do better.
Asked the basic questions about myself and then asked who are my fashion inspirations. They also asked me customer based situations and how I would response. Definitely also teamwork questions.

Question 1
What would you do in so and so situation with a customer
I was interviewed in the middle of the store on the poufs during a very busy rush of customers. During the interview, expect to be in the middle of it all!
Mostly a “vibe check” — maybe a few basic interview questions but mostly want to see if your personality and fashion align with the brand. Only real tip is to dress fashionably in your own personal style, and try to wear mostly Aritzia pieces.
