I applied online thinking I wouldn't hear back, but I received an email for a meet & greet two weeks later. I went in 15 minutes early because it was my first time doing an interview (I know). The girl was interviewing another applicant, but it only took 5 minutes before it was my turn. By the time we sat down I had a good feeling I wasn't going to get the job. They told us to bring in our resume to the interview, but the girl didn't even ask me for mine, and I had to ask her if she wanted it myself (strike one). She asked about 4 standard questions and a few other questions, like which location are you interested in working at, but in the middle of two of my answers she stared off into the distance (strike two). Why bother asking me more than 1 question if you're already disinterested -- save us both some time. Even though she asked me a few questions, the interview was incredibly short. I'd say it was 1-2 minutes long (strike three). She spoke much longer to the candidate before me. They really care about your look and your personality -- they already have specific girls in mind - and I knew I wasn't it based on the interviewers general vibe. I've been mistaken for an Aritzia employee many times (not sure if that's a good thing), so I don't know what I lacked. It could've been my nerves; I was spitting out words I recited a couple times on the subway. So I may have sounded too unnatural. It also seemed like they were looking for specific answers. Either way, words of advice to future candidates, don't be nervous and don't work yourself up -- it's not worth it, they don't like it. Just be friendly, outgoing, and calm.
