I had a one on one interview with the PI of the research lab. He was very nice, polite, interested in what I had to say and listened throughout my research description. He wanted to know about my hands on skills with laboratory tools and facilities and my ability to work independently. He wanted to know my opinion on critical research issues as well as controversial issues with certain research topics. There was a sense of wanting to engage and analyze issues critically.
