After applying, I had a phone call with the hiring manager, basically an initial screening process.
2nd round is with a higher up technical manager. It was the most in depth interview, 20-30 minutes long.
3rd interview was with the final tech lead of the support team. It was less than 10 minutes. Went well but was over very fast. Also some issues I learned about in the 2nd round that kinda guaranteed I and anyone else wouldn't stand a chance in getting the job, 3rd round guy basically implied so as well.
I was very qualified for the job, already doing the exact description nearly word for word in a previous role. The 2nd round technical manager even said maybe I should apply for a different more technically advanced job within the company, but I would have been happy with either job.
What I learned was many of the other applicants were already Arthrex employees from other departments. So yeah. That's really unfortunate. Companies like hiring/promoting from within, it's nepotism almost. I honestly don't know if the job posting should have been posted on public job boards of the internet if it's virtually guaranteed an existing Arthrex employee is getting the position (not guaranteed but they have heavy advantage of course).
It makes getting into the company very hard if they have dozens to hundreds of employees throughout their 10,000 employees they can simply hire from already.
