I applied online. I interviewed at Arup in Oct 2018
Interview
I don't normally write any reviews about bad interview experience. How should I start? I applied a Business Assistant role on their website (the role is based in London). After a few days, I received a reject email. So I thought that was it. Then I received an email from the recruiter who was in charge of this vacancy, she thought my experience interesting, encouraged me to apply on line. I told her that I already did and I received a reject email from their career portal. She said that was an system error (really?) she proposed to give me a call to discuss about my experience and the role on a Monday. We fixed the time, but she didn't call. NO EXPLANATION, NOT A SINGLE WORD. I sent her a text and an email asking her to reschedule, NO REPLY. After one day, I contacted one of her colleagues, I was told that he will try to get her to give me a call. Still, nothing happened. Maybe she changed her mind over the weekend? No idea. In any case, a simple email with just a couple of lines is enough, but she didn't bother to do so. I personally feel this is very unprofessional as I previously worked for a recruitment company, this is what my boss called 'cow boy' style recruiter. CLUELESS. I might never get to work for Arup. But I want to share my experience here. Maybe I am unlucky, but for a company well-known like Arup, this paints a very bad picture to me. And if this recruiter is reading this comment (which I doubt), she probably can recognise who I am, and most probably put me into her 'blacklist'. Well, I don't care, I won't apply any roles at this company.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Arup (Melbourne) in Oct 2018
Interview
The process started with an online test and jumped directly to the face-to-face interview at the local office. Very interactive and relaxing interview, almost felt like chit-chatting with friends. Great people and office environment.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Arup (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied on Arup's careers web page. The interview took 30' explaining previous experience, most interesting projects on technical basis and future professional development plan. Very straight forward interview where interviewer asked about a relocation and salary expectations.
