While I was initially excited about the opportunity, the interview process was frustratingly drawn out over nine weeks with multiple delays and a lack of communication. I wish that I could leave a positive review, but unfortunately my experience was unacceptable.
The format was straight-forward and consisted of a phone screen, conversation with a hiring manager, a mock call and a virtual onsite.
While the team was relatively friendly and welcoming, there was little to no consideration or respect given to my time. Not once did I hear back by the date I was promised to and I even had to wait for 20 minutes for one hiring manager to show up to our interview. One of the organization's operating principles is to "be frustratingly patient about hiring", but it seems the hiring team, in my experience, has taken this to mean "be frustratingly inconsiderate of candidates' time [by disregarding the timelines you give for follow-up communication and requiring them to beg for updates]". It's an exceptionally competitive market and Ashby is growing tremendously, right now. Yet for an ATS platform that prides itself on being a thought leader in the Talent Acquisition and Recruiting space, their treatment of candidates has to better.
I love the product and how passionately their customers support it. Unfortunately, this experience left me with concerns about how the company operates internally and how they value people’s time. I hope Ashby takes candidate experience more seriously in the future, as a well-structured and respectful hiring process reflects directly on company culture.
